VIRTUAL EVENT SERIES PART II
KEY DRIVERS OF FUTURE SMART CITIES

11 January 2021 | 17:00 – 18:00 CET | 16:00 – 17:00 GMT

EVENT SUMMARY

Following our successful five part event series from May to July 2020, we would now like to invite you to join the first session of our virtual event series part II, filled with insights from leading innovation experts from Germany and the UK. The event series is co-organised by the UK Science and Innovation Network Germany (SIN), the German U15 and BABLE, a young Morgenstadt spin-off facilitating innovation in cities.

The overall topic of our first session will be new campus development, including reflections on sustainable construction, the role of universities in the context of large campus developments, as well as on social integration of the new facilities into the existing city/district structure. Our first session will focus on two compelling projects from the UK and Germany:

Berlin TXL – The Urban Tech Republic (from airport to urban tech site for urban technologies)
UCL Campus Stratford (from an Olympic Park to a cultural and educational district)

Prof Paola Lettieri and Prof Raoul Bunschoten will give a short input with an overview of both projects –especially with regards to future urban development. How are science locations, living, smart campuses, sustainable building, political framework conditions and social influences linked?
